The Plans of Mice and Men

Three research papers all turned in. Today.

One five-page paper. Turned in. Today.

Vacation, here I come!!!

I have been a little on edge that I wouldn't have everything needed to be accomplished for school done by next Thursday, but...it's looking that way. One assignment (time consuming, but easily doable), one presentation tomorrow (easy), and one final Wednesday (praying hard), and...I'm...done. My first semester of residency is nearing its last days.

I feel ridiculously relieved.

And, to celebrate, I'm heading on vaca with the hubby and some members from our Sunday School class. We've rented a houseboat, and I plan to either be in the sun, in the hot tub, or sliding down the houseboat's slide every moment of the day. Oh, and reading. DEFINITELY reading.

Here's what's on my list (and if you want to add suggestions, please let me know!).

I actually read this book last week, but I can't wait to read it sitting on the deck of our houseboat. I think it'll be absolutely fabulous.

I read this in high school (or maybe college??), but I think now I'll have a greater appreciation for it.

My favorite Austen book is "Pride and Prejudice," but after reading a Home Life article (maybe it was a different mag; I read it while running last night), I read this article of 38 Best Books or something like that, and one of them was Persuasion. So....why not?

Rachel actually introduced me to this one, and I'm hoping I like it better than "Crazy Love." Yes, I'm probably the one person in the world who didn't like "Crazy Love." But this one looks more of something I'll enjoy, so I'm hoping I'll be able to give it a good recommendation. I have to admit, it was hard not to start reading it today!

So, here's to being so close to done I can taste it! And, to celebrate even more, we'll be vacationing for Hubby's 28th birthday (getting closer to the big 3-0 every day, and YES, I am SO planning a ridiculously big birthday blowout for his 30th) AND celebrating finishing his comps. He took his comprehensive exam today and feels good about it. =) We won't find out the results for two weeks, but I'm thankful it's over and that he feels confident that we'll receive good results.

Now, back to my last assignment...

Looks like a good list. I love Pride and Prejudice, so I may have to try Persuasions.

Have you read The Help? Easily in my top 20 favorite books. Haha, that sounds like an easy list to make it to, but I swear it's not! It's so, so good. And Sonnets from the Portuguese is great! EBB is one my very faves.
