It's not FAIR

Okay. First of all, I don't really "advertise" this, so...feel special. ;)

I started Weight Watchers in January. I didn't really tell too many people because I just don't like the idea of being on a diet. But WW is online and easy to do, and I'm down with online and easy. That works for me.

I lost five pounds (I was shooting for 15), and, really, if I just lose five more, I'll be THRILLED. Anyway, I'm digressing. Because this post isn't about me. Not much, that is.

It's about Superman.

Superman decided to start WW. He did it before our wedding and lost a ton of weight. Unfortunately, he got off of it and gained it back. (The Married 19 hit us both.)

I signed him up for WW today. Now, I get 21 points. That's about equivalent to 1260 calories a day. I get to eat whatever I want...but it is limited. But not too much. Or so I thought.

Now, I know that Superman is a boy and that he weighs more than me and has more weight to lose than I do. I EXPECTED him to be allowed more points than me.

He gets 37 points. A day. THIRTY-SEVEN POINTS!!!!

WHAT??!!!

That's sixteen points more than I get EACH DAY. For lunch I ate two pieces of cheese toast. It was like...five points. Maybe six. I can't remember. But that's about a third of my daily points.

Superman ate a lean cuisine and TWO granola bars. It was 11 points.

That's LESS THAN A THIRD of his daily points.

So not fair.

He's in the kitchen making omelets right now. Well, maybe just an omelet. Because HE has points to spare.

Me? I used the last of mine of the day on Indian food.

And he just started eating his third granola bar of the day.

No fair.

Ugh. That IS frustrating!

Good job on the weight loss; I thought you looked smaller!

(I guess the beignets didn't help, did they? Thank goodness for the extra points!) :)

Ah man! That totally stinks.
I was on weight watchers once right before I was married. I was allowed 22 points. I hear ya. It is SO unfair.

Your right - it's not fair! My hubby doesn't have a wieght problem, but when I go on a diet, he loses weight and his pants get too loose. And he's still eating icecream and cookies!

Hey, it does feel like a man's world sometimes! Even at weight watchers. Good luck with your weight loss goals!! You'll do great. You're off to a great start.

First of all - way to go on the 5 pounds! Seriously - I know all too well how terribly hard it is...and I have a LOT to lose, so it's looking pretty grim over here. :)

Secondly - yes yes yes - so unfair. My hubby can drop weight like nothing...he actually needs to gain weight at this point, he is way too skinny. But he eats whatever the heck he wants while I'm over there poking at a spinach salad. :)

1260 is about what i eat...or am supposed to eat.

and men are so frustrating like that!

not to mention a little extra weight doesn't look as bad on a man as on a woman.

ps - congrats on the 5 lbs.

And being a man he'll lose the weight quicker too. This is just more proof that God is a man. :-)

Did you know that I used to be a WW meeting room leader? Yep! I did the "classes." The male/female thing is definitely unfair, and I used to warn new members all the time that their spouses would inevitably lose a lot faster than they did--just be ready. There was a study done of newborns in hospitals, and the girls had more fat and less muscle tone than the boys. Not fair from the get-go! Keep at it. I always told my clients, if you weren't doing what you're doing (even thought you'd like to see more success faster) it's better than gaining. If you were doing nothing, chances are, you (meaning all of us) would be gaining.

I did Weight Watchers before my wedding and I continue to basically follow it today (over a year) it is amazing! Good job on the weight loss thus far! :) It's really a lifestyle change. Once you are ready to embrace it..it's much easier. It helps to do it together also!
