What's Your Answer Wednesday: The Romantic One

First, let me say, thank you for your suggestions to help my knees with running. I'm going to stretch before I run next time, AND I purchased some actual running shoes. Hopefully that will help.

Now, on to the fun!

1. What is your idea of a perfect date?

2. Do you prefer traditional gifts (ie jewelry, chocolate, flowers) from your significant other, or do you want more contemporary gifts (and give examples)?

3. Are you friends with any of your ex-boyfriends/girlfriends?

4. What has been your longest AND shortest relationship?

My answers:

1. Probably a couple of years ago I would have said an elaborate date, but now it's just pizza, sitting out with a blanket on the swing, and then coming inside to cuddle and watch a movie.

2. Traditional -- Jewelry and chocolate are usually my route!

3. Yes, one. He married one of my best friends. =)

4. Longest would be with Superman -- over 5 years (almost four married), and, shortest...I had several month-long relationships in college.

Now it's your turn!

1. perfect date? w/ our boys in school during the day my hubby and i sometimes take time for lunch out. i don't always love going out at night, so this is a sweet time for me to enjoy just him.
2. my hubby knows that a gift card to buy clothes goes over way better than any card, flowers or chocolate!
3. a guy that i was almost engaged to just found me on facebook, so we've caught up. it is great to see how life turned out for him and then to go smooch my own hubby and smile!
4. brain fog at the moment on this one. 2 years for the longest i think?

1)Perfect PERFECT date would be flying tour of a Hawaiain island, followed by a picnic lunch on the beach under a cabana, a nap on a hammock, happy hour at the tiki hunt bar with a game of cribbage, dinner on the beach folowed by some dancing under the stars. THAT THAT is my perfect date. In reality mines alot like yours dinner I don't have to plan or cook and a good movie, snuggled up on the couch and children asleep in their beds.
2)Never thought about it till hubby gave me flowers when I NEEDED it most. I enjoy gifts, whatever they are if you thought of me and that's what you found I will treasure it.
3)nope. none. I would have liked to stayed friends with my first but then he went and married a look-a like of me and her name is Kara. So that pretty much ended any friendship.
4) 7 1/2 years with John. Then he married Kara. Rob and I have been together going on 9 years (in Oct) and my shortest was one date. I'd been friends with this person for years, we tried dating and it was just weird...we are still friends.
I'm a committed person, And loyal if I sense any straying I drop em like a dirty rag!

1. Just going somewhere quiet where we can actually talk.

2. Contemporary I guess. Flowers die, I don't wear a lot of jewelry, and chocolate makes me fat. Truthfully a dishwasher is the best gift he ever gave me. :)

3. I am friends (on Facebook anyway) with 3 of my ex's, but I don't talk or email to any of them.

4. Longest: with Hubs, 7 years (6.24 married). Shortest, about a week. :)

That was supposed to be 6.25, as in 6 1/4. I'm tired. :)

1. Perfect date - sad to say, we go on so few that I am not picky - anything will do! Dinner, a movie. I actually love to get take-out and rent a movie, and just spend time at home. That is a perfect night for me.

2. I don't get a ton of flowers, and I'm ok with that. He has given me some nice jewelry, too, but I don't know that it is necessarily my favorite kind of gift. Now, if he showed up with a Nikon D60 or a baby grand....woohoo. Oh, and once he gave me a microwave, which I was SO excited about. :)

3. I am facebook friends with one of them, but it never was super serious.

4. Shortest - about 6 weeks I think. Longest - my hubby - been together 8 1/2 years!

1. Perfect date - 48 hours away with John- a mountain retreat, maybe some horseback riding......

2. I'm all about the experiences, so John knows that gift cards are huge for me - particularly those aimed at indulgences like "spa days"

3. No contact with any of the most significant former relationships....

4. One day was the shortest (he asked to be in a relationship that night - and I broke it off the next morning) - and 13 years with my hubby is the longest.
