Baby names already?

Yes, we're that couple -- the kind who picks out baby names waaayyy before said baby is conceived. Anyway, so Superman has recently decided he wants to name our baby girl Meghan. But don't "ooh" and "awww" yet. Not hardly.

Superman told me about this name decision last night, but let me back up to our second year of marriage and we were visiting his grandparents.

If any of you have been married over a year and have not had a baby, you probably get the "Why haven't you gotten pregnant yet?" convo. Well, we were discussing babies with his grandparents, and his grandmother asked, "Have you thought about names?"

And before I could answer, Superman said, "If it's a girl, we're naming her MEGATRON."

That's right, ladies and gentlemen. My husband wants to name his daughter after a Transformer. Told you, we are dorks. But I think this shoots his dorkiness up more than mine. You be the judge.

The thing is, his grandmother BELIEVED him. She looked at me and said, "Well...I guess you could call her Meg."

"NO, NO!!" I exclaimed, glaring at Superman. "He's joking, Mamaw. We are NOT naming our daughter Megatron."

So apparently he's been thinking still of Megatron, as why he decided our little girl (if we even HAVE one) should be named Meghan.

"Uh...no," I said last night when he brought it up, because I KNEW what he was thinking. "We are NOT naming our daughter Meghan."

It's not that I really have anything against the name Meghan. I have something against the next words that came out of his mouth:

"Oh, come on!" he said. "How cute would it be when she's three years old for me to say, 'Baby, what's your name again?' and she says, 'MEGATRON!!'"

Oh, no, no, no, no, no....

I have to agree it IS funny.
I do like the name Meghan. But I had my children and if I want to use that name it'll have to be on a dog or cat and we are no where ready for anymore of those...
So what doers he want for a boy then Optimus? Or should I say Tim?

So funny. Good thing your hubby let you in on his idea to "transform" Meghan into his own little robot pet name. When the time comes, you'll have to try out a bunch of names on him and go with the ones that he doesn't have a quick nickname for :) It's fun to think of baby names. Keep a list!

She might as well start out with a cool nick name. :) I'm w/Superman. Whatever you decide on will be fabulous, but definitely keep a list, then put it in the baby book as a keepsake. Blessings, Susan

BWAH HA HA HA HA HA HA!!!

What do you expect when he calls your dog "Beach"?

I'm assuming Colt is still the name for the boy? :)

Did you know that B and I have talked about girl names... though we both don't want kids. I guess we will give it to the next dog -- which if I ever join him, we'll get.
But we never talked about boy names.
But that is so your hubby -- think of your pup's name! I'll have to tell B about this name -- I've heard some interesting ones before but that's just great!

First, lol for you and Superman. I only had to fight off baseball legends when choosing baby names with my husband. :)

But, gosh, I think Sara got the boys name down. That was funny...Optimus. Tim... still chuckling...

Wasn't Megatron the "bad guy"? Wouldn't something more like "Optimus" be a good name?

Seriously, Megatron was such a lame transformer in the classic version since he was a gun. I mean, cool toy, bad on screen.

First off...yes. I totally get that whole "whey are you gonna have a baby" conversation....I got it for 3 straight years from my MIL. :)

Your hubby cracks me up. I can't wait to see if he actually wins you over to his side.

And the next one could be Optimus Prime...sorry, that's what happens when you have 3 boys, you learn all the names of the transformers ;)
